Homeward Bound is a Dog Adoption & Relocation service and also a small scale rescue.
  • My aim is to prevent the abandonment of dogs, thereby sparing the dog a potentially fatal week in the dog pound, or sparing overworked rescue groups another addition to their workload. My hope is to encourage owners to re-home their pet rather than surrender him to the pound or a shelter, and also to encourage people to adopt a dog rather than feeding the demand for purposefully bred dogs by purchasing one.

  • Homing Service: I deal with dogs no longer able to stay in their current home, and with people who want to offer their home to a dog that needs one.

  • Rescue: Space permitting, I take in found strays and dogs from owners who surrender their dog to me, foster them, assess them, vaccinate, worm/flea and neuter them, and then home them. I also do what I can to help other rescue groups in sourcing homes for their dogs.

  • I don't have a boarding premises, rescue dogs live indoors with me and my family and our own 4 dogs for the duration of their stay. They integrate with our routine, and are treated as our own. Saying goodbye is always very difficult, particularly on my kids who are very active in the care, training and exercise of each dog that stays with us. Also, I am very lucky to have a small network of volunteer foster-carers who offer their home and their time to a rescue dog when a space isn't available at my own home.
